For Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (“Oncor”) to continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in the area, it proposes to build a new 765 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between the expansion of Oncor’s existing Longshore Switch and the expansion of Oncor’s existing Drill Hole Switch (Project). The Longshore Switch is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the City of Forsan in Howard County. The Drill Hole Switch is located 6 miles west of US 285 near the Culberson County/Reeves County Line. The proposed transmission line project will be approximately 160 miles depending on the route if approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (“PUCT”). The Proposed Transmission Line Project is currently planned for completion in 2029.
Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes a new765 kV transmission line constructed on self-supporting, steel lattice towers.
Public Meeting – On May 08, 2025, notice of public meeting was published in The Van Horn Advocate, Pecos Enterprise, Stanton-Martin County Messenger, and Monohans News. On May 09, 2025, notice of public meeting was published in Andrews County News, and Big Spring Herald. On May 10, 2025, notice of public meeting was published in the Odessa American.
