For Oncor to continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in this area, Oncor proposes to construct a new 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line project, approximately 1.27 miles in length, to facilitate the retermination of an existing Oncor transmission line into Oncor’s existing Ranger Camp Switch. Oncor also proposes to add an additional circuit, approximately 22 miles in length between the existing Ranger Camp Switch and the existing Tonkawa Switch in Mitchell and Scurry Counties. The Proposed Transmission Line Project is currently planned for completion in summer 2027.
Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes a new 345 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line, approximately 1.27 miles in length. The structure will be constructed on self-supporting, steel lattice towers and steel monopole structures. Oncor also proposes to add an additional circuit approximately 22 miles, between the existing Ranger Camp and Tonkawa Transmission line.
