To continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in this area, Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) proposes to construct a new 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Oncor’s existing Deaf Smith Switching Station, located approximately 10.75 miles southeast of the intersection of Interstate Highway (IH) 40 and United States Highway (US) 385, and the proposed Theory Switching Station, located approximately 11.30 miles southwest of the intersection of US 385 and Ranch Road (RR) 1057 in Deaf Smith County. The proposed Aurelius Point of Interconnection (POI) will be approximately 0.09 miles northwest of the proposed Theory Switch. The existing Deaf Smith Switching Station will be rebuilt as part of the Project. The Proposed Transmission Line Project is currently planned for completion in 2028.

Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes a new 345 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line, approximately 32 miles in length. The structure will be constructed on self-supporting monopole structures.
