To continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in this area, Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) proposes to disconnect the existing Morgan Creek to Gasconades Creek 345 kV transmission line and the existing Morgan Creek to Bitter Creek/Champion Creek 345 kV transmission line from Oncor’s Morgan Creek Switch and reterminate each line at or near Oncor’s existing Cattleman Switch, which is located approximately 2.10 miles southwest of Morgan Creek Switch in Mitchell County, Texas. The proposed extension of the Morgan Creek to Gasconades Creek line will result in 2.70 miles of new transmission line, extending from the Cattleman to Gasconades Creek extension point to the existing Cattleman Switch, and establishing the Cattleman to Gasconades Creek single-circuit 345 kV transmission line. The proposed extension of the Morgan Creek to Bitter Creek/Champion Creek line will result in 2.50 miles of new transmission facilities extending from the Morgan Creek to Bitter Creek/Champion Creek extension point to a termination point approximately 650 feet southeast of the existing Cattleman Switch, creating the Cattleman to Bitter Creek/Champion Creek double-circuit 345 kV transmission line.
The Cattleman to Gasconades Creek extension point is located approximately 0.70 miles southwest of the intersection of County Road (“CR”) 620 and State Highway (“SH”) 163 in Mitchell County, and the Cattleman to Bitter Creek/Champion Creek extension point is located approximately 0.60 miles southwest of the intersection of CR 620 and SH 163 in Mitchell County. Oncor’s existing Cattleman Switch is located approximately 0.80 miles west of the intersection of South Farm-to-Market Road (“FM”) 2836 and SH 163 in Mitchell County.
The Proposed Transmission Line Project will be constructed entirely within existing Oncor right-of-way (“ROW”) on double-circuit steel monopoles.
Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes a 345 kV Transmission Line, approximately 2.5 miles in length. The structure will be constructed on self-supporting monopole structures.
