To continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in this area Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) and Wind Energy Transmission Texas LLC (WETT) propose to construct a new 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Oncor’s existing Lamesa Switch in Dawson County, Texas, and WETT’s existing Faraday Switch in Borden County, Texas (Project). Oncor’s Lamesa Switch is located approximately 1.2 miles northwest of the intersection of State Highway 349 and United States (US) Highway 87. WETT’s Faraday Switch is located on the east side of Willow Valley Road approximately 1.2 miles north- northeast of where it crosses the Colorado River, and 8.8 miles south of its intersection with US Highway 180 in Gail. The Proposed Transmission Line Project is currently planned for completion in 2029.
Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes a new 345 kV double circuit transmission line, approximately 36 to 45 miles in length constructed on self-supporting steel lattice structures.
