To continue to provide safe and reliable electric service in this area, Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) proposes to install a second 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between Oncor’s existing Ranger Camp Switching Station, located approximately 0.7 miles west-southwest of the intersection of South Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 1229 and State Highway (SH) 163 in Mitchell County, and the existing Midland East Switching Station, located approximately 0.9 miles northwest of the intersection of North County Road 1160 and Interstate Highway (IH) 20 in Midland County. This project is part of the ERCOT West Texas 345 kV Infrastructure Rebuild Project.
Voltage and Structure Type – The project includes the installation of a second 345 kV circuit along the existing 71.9-mile Ranger Camp Switch – Midland East Switch 345 kV transmission line on new double circuit monopole structures.
