All known October 20th storm-related outages for homes and businesses capable of accepting power have been restored, with the exception of a handful of customers in the heart of the North Dallas tornado impact zone.

Personnel worked in this area throughout the night despite inclement weather, and continue to work on completing final restoration for these remaining customers by late this morning. We recognize the challenges and frustrations our customers face during extended outages, and greatly appreciate their continued patience and understanding as we work together to restore and rebuild.

Approximately 2,700 Oncor customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are currently without power following the heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lighting since last night and early this morning. These outages are significantly less complex than the damage of Sunday night’s storms and personnel have already been deployed to complete restoration as quickly and safely as possible.

There are many homes and businesses that were destroyed or damaged so severely by Sunday’s storms that they will not be able to accept power until proper repairs are made. In some cases, Oncor will also temporarily disconnect the power of homes and business deemed to be unsafe. We will continue to work with these customers throughout the ongoing restoration process.
