Today, staying a safe distance apart matters and can be the difference between getting sick and keeping healthy. That’s why Oncor is asking our customers to follow social distancing practices when you see one of our employees working in the field.
“To do our jobs properly, our employees need to stay safe and stay healthy,” said Keith Hull, Oncor Vice President, Distribution Operations. “Let’s keep our distance. That means staying at least six feet away from one another.”
At Oncor, safety is at the foundation of everything we do, whether it’s working with electricity or dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, Hull said.
“If you see one of our employees working on power lines or equipment in your area, please remember the social distancing guidelines,” Hull said. “And thank you for your patience during these uncertain times.”
As more people shelter at home, the need for safe and reliable electricity is more important than ever. That’s why Oncor is asking for the public’s help to keep our employees and customers as healthy as possible.
“Whether you’re out for a walk or shopping for groceries, we’re all trying to stay a safe distance away from each other,” Hull said. “The same goes for our Oncor employees who you may see working in your neighborhood. It’s OK for you to ask them a question, just please do so from a safe distance.”
Oncor employees are continuing to work around the clock during this critical time to make sure all of the 10 million customers that we serve across Texas have electricity.
“We appreciate our customers’ interest in the work we’re doing in their areas,” Hull said. “But we all need to be especially aware of practicing safe, social distancing so we can all stay healthy. Remember, let’s keep our distance.”
