Oncor is proud to announce a $60,000 investment to support three East Texas volunteer fire departments: Klondike, Gallatin, and Cushing. Each department will receive $20,000 to use at their discretion to support operational needs or invest in equipment and resources that best serve their communities.
Volunteer fire departments play a vital role in keeping rural communities safe, often serving as the first line of defense during structure fires, severe weather events, and wildfires.
“At Oncor, safety drives every decision we make and that commitment extends to supporting the first responders who work every day to keep our communities safe,” said Oncor East Region Customer Services Director Tom Trimble. “These volunteer departments are essential to East Texas, and we’re proud to help provide the resources they need to serve safely and effectively.”
“Support like this makes a meaningful difference for departments like ours,” said Cushing Fire Chief Steven Arreguin. “It allows us to improve our readiness and continue serving our community with the tools we need to do the job safely.”
“At Oncor, safety is at the center of everything we do, and that includes standing behind the first responders who protect our communities every day,” said Oncor Area Manager Larry Willis. “Volunteer fire departments play a vital role across East Texas, and we’re honored to support them with resources that help them do their jobs safely and effectively.”
“Support like this has a real impact for departments like ours,” said Klondike Fire Chief Jerry Currin. “It helps us strengthen our capabilities and ensures we can continue serving our community with the equipment and training needed to operate safely.”
This investment reflects Oncor’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local partnerships and supporting the safety and resilience of the communities it serves across Texas.
