Oklaunion – Fisher Road 345 kV Transmission Line Project

transmission

As Texas continues to grow at a brisk pace, it is important to take steps to ensure that a reliable and secure electric system is in place to support electric load. Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC ("Oncor") proposes to modify a portion of the existing single circuit Oklaunion – Fisher Rd 345 kV transmission line north of Sheppard Air Force Base (AFB) in Wichita County. This project is designed to increase the distance of the existing line from the Northern approach to Sheppard Air Force Base and locate the line in close proximity to Oncor's recently approved Riley-Krum West 345 kV CREZ transmission line, approved in Docket No. 38140.

The modification will require a certificate of convenience and necessity from the Public Utility Commission of Texas. To support the certification request, an alternative routing analysis and environmental assessment has been initiated to allow for the development of routes east and west of the Sheppard AFB section of the Oklaunion – Fisher Rd 345 kV line.

  • Voltage and Structure Type - The project is proposed to be a single circuit 345 kV transmission line constructed on Lattice Steel Towers.
