Ables Springs 138 kV Transmission Project

transmission

As the North Texas area continues to grow, it is important to take steps to ensure that everyone is supplied with water and electricity. Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC has been requested to construct a proposed transmission line for Farmers Electric Cooperative to serve the North Texas Municipal Water District ("NTMWD") pump station and water treatment plant near Ables Springs. The proposed project will also provide 138 kV service to proposed points of interconnection for future substations. In addition, this project will also increase reliability by providing a second transmission source to three substations along the existing radial Iron Bridge tap line. Thus, the project will meet the service requirements of the NTMWD and will provide more reliable service to existing and potential future substations.

  • Voltage and Structure Type - The project is proposed to be a 138 kV transmission line constructed on steel or concrete single poles.
