For Government, Schools, and Non-Profits
We offer a variety of energy efficiency programs for governmental facilities, schools, and non-profit organizations that receive service from Oncor. These programs are specifically designed to help:
reduce monthly energy consumption and costs, and
- reduce energy demand during the state's summer on-peak period
Through these programs, Oncor provides incentives directly to facilities that implement energy saving projects. Incentives are also available through Energy Efficiency Service Providers who implement the energy saving projects for the governments and schools.
Programs Available

- City Matching Grant
- The City Matching Grant Program is designed to assist cities in need of making energy efficiency improvements or upgrades to a building through a matching grant.
- Commercial Audit Program
- The Commercial Audit Program is designed to identify areas of energy efficiency improvement in commercial facilities. Facilities that enroll and are selected for the Program will receive a detailed energy audit and facility energy assessment.
- Commercial Program
- For commercial and governmental facilities with 100 kW or more in energy demand.
- Data Center Program
- The Data Center Program is designed to provide assistance with decreasing the electrical load of existing data centers to develop designs and procedures for new data centers to minimize their future electrical load.
- Educational Facilities Program
- The Educational Facilities Program was developed to provide viable energy efficiency and demand reduction solutions for schools K-12 and colleges. Participating schools will identify opportunities within their schools and develop an energy master plan so that they can take the best approach toward reducing energy costs.
- Government Facilities Program
The Government Facilities Program was developed to provide viable energy efficiency and demand reduction solutions for city and county owned and operated facilities. Participating cities and counties will identify opportunities within their areas and develop an energy master plan so that they can take the best approach toward reducing their energy costs.
- LED Lighting Program
- The LED Lighting Program is designed to incorporate the newest LED energy-saving lighting in parking lots and parking garages. Each facility that enrolls in the Program will receive an evaluation for LED Lighting viability, assistance with finding a contractor, and incentives for installing eligible LED lighting.
- LivingWise®
- The LivingWise® Program is designed to educate 6th grade students about using water and energy resources wisely. This flexible and turnkey program provides educators with teacher education materials, lesson plans, activity books, and other engaging activities that can be used inside and outside the classroom.
- Load Management Program
- Targeted to commercial and industrial facilities with 750 kW or more of energy demand that can achieve a minimum of 100 kW reduction in summer peak demand.
- School Matching Grant
- The School Matching Grant Program is designed to assist public and charter schools in need of making energy efficiency improvements or upgrades to a building through a matching grant.
- Solar Photovoltaic Program
- The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Program is designed to help customers meet a portion of their electric energy needs with solar PV systems. The Program assists residential, commercial, and governmental customers with selecting the best site for a solar PV system, identifying an Service Provider (installer) for installation, and with incentives to help offset the initial cost of installing a solar PV system.
