Oncor Launches Expanded Take A Load Off, Texas Campaign for 2009
Oncor's energy efficiency campaign, Take A Load Off, Texas, will visit 45 venues in 2009. In its third year, the campaign to raise awareness about energy efficiency and promote Oncor programs has expanded beyond the bright yellow van and interactive exhibits that toured the Oncor system for the first time in 2007.
Oncor's Take A Load Off, Texas educational experience now includes:
Take A Load Off, Texas Kids - Children ages 4 to 7 learn how to caulk, weather strip, and insulate a playhouse using their very own toolkit. Each child receives a plastic hard hat and a special Super Energy Saver sticker after completing the educational experience.
Senior Energy Efficiency Bingo - A special version of a popular game that educates mature citizens about energy efficiency steps they can take.
Are You Energy Smart? – A fun, electronic game that teaches 8 to 12-year-olds basic facts about energy efficiency.
This summer, Oncor will introduce a Take A Load Off, Texas Center on Wheels, a specially equipped, self-contained trailer with exhibits on solar installations, duct sealing, insulation, heating and air conditioning, energy-efficient appliances, windows, lighting and solar power.
Oncor's Take A Load Off, Texas Center on Wheels, Take A Load Off, Texas van and hands-on exhibits, Take A Load Off, Texas Kids, Are You Energy Smart? game, and Energy Efficiency Bingo, will criss-cross the state throughout the year, teaching consumers of all ages about how to save energy.
