The Take A Load Off, Texas tour continues to capture the attention of both the media and consumers in Oncor's service area. Through mid-year, Oncor's 10-city tour, which kicked off in January, has reached more than 1.7 million consumers through radio, television and print media coverage and attracted close to 4,000 visitors. More than 50 children have learned about energy efficiency through the TALOT kids program introduced in June. More than 100 households also benefited from free energy efficiency assessments offered by Oncor providers participating in TALOT events. Upcoming tour stops include Wichita Falls, Mesquite, Paris and the State Fair of Texas.

These programs are a part of a statewide effort to reduce energy consumption and demand. The Public Utility Commission of Texas helps to oversee the programs and establishes the incentive fees paid to the Service Providers.

The result is a classic win-win:

  • lower energy costs and improved home comfort for consumers
  • a brighter energy future for the state of Texas

Take a Load Off, Texas 2008 Tour

Oncor's 2008 Take a Load Off, Texas Tour began in March and will continue through November, reaching a total of 11 cities across Oncor's service area in 2008.

The tour capitalizes on last year's successful four-city launch and will showcase the tour van complete with interactive demonstrations on energy-efficient technologies and measures such as insulation, lighting choices, filter selection and maintenance, air ducting and ideal caulking procedures.
