Hicks - Elizabeth Creek

As the state’s economy continues to grow at a brisk pace, it is important to take steps to ensure that a reliable electric system is in place to support electric load growth. In particular, northern Tarrant and southern Denton counties are areas of interest to this new customer load growth. In addition to commercial and industrial development, there has also been active residential development in the area. Specifically, Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) proposes to expand transmission facilities in northern Tarrant and southern Denton counties in the area of the Hicks Switching Station and construct the projects that provide the needed expansion. These projects consist of the installation of a new 345/138 kV autotransformer and 138 kV buses in the existing Hicks Switching Station, as well as the construction of the Hicks – Elizabeth Creek 138 kV double circuit line in 2016. Completion of these Oncor projects will relieve loading on 345/138 kV autotransformers in the area, and provide a transmission source in an expanding area of North Texas.
•  Voltage and Structure Type - The project is proposed to be a double circuit 138 kV transmission line constructed on steel or concrete monopoles.
