As the state’s economy continues to grow, it is important to take steps to ensure that a reliable electric system is in place to support associated electric load growth. In order for Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) and Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (Brazos Electric) to continue to provide safe and reliable electric service, Oncor and Brazos Electric have jointly proposed a new double-circuit capable 138 kV transmission line to be located in Scurry and Kent Counties. The proposed line would connect the existing Oncor Cogdell Substation, located in Scurry County approximately 15.5 miles northeast of Snyder, Texas, with the existing Brazos Electric Clairemont Substation, located in Kent County approximately 7 miles northwest of Clairemont, Texas. Completion of the new line will provide an additional and essential transmission-level electric source to the area to facilitate future maintenance needs and generally improve transmission reliability to the area. The project has been independently reviewed and endorsed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
Voltage and Structure Type - The project is proposed to be a double-circuit capable 138 kV transmission line constructed on steel monopoles.
